The 1:50 timber model for Harbour Workshops was built before the mezzanine was drawn. Inès Laurent cut the strips at her bench, one floor at a time, and the studio looked at the model on the table before it looked at any section.
A model shows a thing a drawing hides: where daylight lands on a desk, and where a stair takes too much floor. We keep the model on the table until the building is in use.
