About Hodoki Clinic

our story

Hodoki Clinic is a small physiotherapy practice in Fernhill for desk workers and for people finding their way after surgery. We have worked from one address since 2015.

STORY

Untying, since 2015

Clara Mendes opened Hodoki Clinic in 2015. The name is our word for untying: loosen what is held, then build strength. A shoulder braced over a keyboard, or a knee guarded since an operation, is often tied up in protection before it is truly weak. We listen, test how you move, and start treatment on the same day.

There is one clinic, at 2F, 41 Alder Street, Fernhill. Five treatment bays and a small exercise studio share one corridor, so the assessment and the practice are not in different buildings. The first visit is sixty minutes. You do not need a referral, and you do not need to buy a package before anyone will see you.

BEFORE WE TREAT.

how we work

The first thing we do is ask what you need the body to do. A full day at a desk. The stairs at the station. A night that does not require a new position every hour. Then we test: how you sit and stand, how the neck behaves when the arms reach, how a knee shares load after surgery.

How the hour runs

Hands-on treatment starts in that same hour, so you leave knowing what we tried and what changed. A written plan follows the same day. We would rather change one clear thing than hand you a long programme you will not keep. Follow-ups are usually every one to two weeks, with a review at week six.

Then build strength

Guarding is useful for a short time and costly if it stays. After an operation the body protects the joint. After months at a desk the shoulders sit up by the ears and the back stops sharing the work. Strengthening on top of that brace often feels like effort without ease.

So the early work is to untie. Calm the tissue that is holding on, restore a range you can use, then load it in the studio. Sofia Lindgren leads Desk Reset when the next step is practice in a small group. The physiotherapist who tested you stays with the plan. We do not name a number of weeks in advance. We name the next visit from what the tests showed.

The people in the rooms

Clara Mendes is founder and clinical lead, and she treats neck and shoulder. Tomasz Wolski leads post-surgery rehabilitation for knee and hip. Amara Osei treats back pain and desk-related pain. Jonah Reed treats hand, wrist, and elbow. Priya Nair treats the shoulder after surgery. Sofia Lindgren, our exercise physiologist, leads the Desk Reset classes. Elena Duarte coordinates bookings and insurer receipts.

You will see one of them for treatment, not a rotating cast. Fees are listed per visit. If you need a receipt with treatment codes, Elena writes one. Phone +1 555 0142 300 or write to hello@hodoki-clinic.example.
