Our Optometrists
seven people
Seven people work at Hitomi Vision. Dr. Elena Marsh and Samuel Achebe are pictured on this page. The other five are listed here by name, role, and the work they actually do.
Dr. Elena Marsh, OD
founder and director

Dr. Elena Marsh, OD
Founder and director.
Dr. Marsh sees adults, and she works on binocular vision: how the two eyes aim and hold a clear target at the distance the person actually uses. She opened Hitomi Vision in 2011 on the second floor of 14 Linden Row, Northgate, with three exam rooms and a small frame room. That is still the clinic.
Patients who want her for an adult binocular problem can ask for her by name. She is at the slit lamp herself, and the photograph on this page shows her there. The explanation at the end of a comprehensive exam is part of her standard. Fifteen minutes of the sixty-minute, $120 visit are reserved for the plan, so the findings are spoken in the room.
The other six people on this page cover children’s vision, dry eye and contact lenses, screen and workplace vision, frames, imaging, and the book. Ask at the desk if you are unsure who should see you. Hana Lindgren would rather match the visit than fill a gap in the diary.
Samuel Achebe
imaging

Samuel Achebe
Clinical technician,
imaging.
Samuel Achebe runs the retinal camera and the other imaging the optometrist has asked for. You meet him when a visit includes that record. The screen beside him shows the image for the clinician to read; he does not replace the explanation stage. He is not an optometrist, he does not fit contact lenses, and he does not choose frames.
His work sits inside the ten-minute eye-health stage of a comprehensive exam, so the fifteen-minute explanation still has its full time. If imaging is not part of your plan, you may not meet him, and that is a clinical decision rather than an omission. The photograph on this page is him beside the camera, in the same bright exam room as the rest of the clinic.
Questions about what the image means belong with the optometrist who ordered it. Questions about the time of your visit belong with the front desk.
Also at the clinic
five more names
Dr. Tomas Reyes, OD
Children’s vision and myopia follow-up
Dr. Reyes sees ages five to fifteen. The children’s vision exam is fifty minutes and $95. Where a child cannot comfortably read a letter chart, he uses games and picture targets, and he takes the history from the parent in the room. Signs he expects to hear include a book held close, skipped lines, reading avoided, eyes rubbed, and a board that blurs from the back row.
Dr. Priya Nair, OD
Dry eye and contact lenses
The dry eye evaluation with Dr. Nair is forty minutes and $90: tear film, lids at the slit lamp, and a lid-care routine you can repeat at home when that is the finding. A warm compress in the treatment chair is part of teaching that routine, not a separate fee.
Dr. Jonah Whitfield, OD
Screen and workplace vision
The assessment is forty-five minutes and $85. Dr. Whitfield measures the distance to your screen, looks at monitor height, and decides whether occupational lenses, a separate desk pair, or distance glasses match the work. The 20-20-20 habit — every twenty minutes, a look about twenty feet away, for about twenty seconds — is discussed when a pause belongs in the plan. It is not offered in place of a lens.
Ines Kowalczyk
Optician, frames and lens fitting
Ines Kowalczyk fits frames and lenses after a prescription is known. She does not refract. Frames in the room start at $160. If the frame you prefer is above that starting price, she tells you before it is ordered. Lenses are quoted only once the exam, or a prescription you brought, says what they must do.
Hana Lindgren
Front desk and scheduling
Hana Lindgren answers +1 555 0142 208 and hello@hitomivision.example. She will ask which visit you need so the length is right: sixty minutes for a comprehensive exam at $120, fifty for a child at $95, forty-five for screen work at $85, forty for dry eye at $90, the contact lens fitting at $110 with its two follow-ups, or a twenty-minute follow-up at $40.
