For current families
Parents
This page is the hub for families already at Kanade. It gathers the month’s dates, the school day, bus and lunch, absence reporting and the written policies.

This month
Three dates are the ones families ask about first. Tuesday 10 November 2026 is an open morning, 9:30 to 11:00, useful if a sibling or a visiting relative needs to see the campus. The winter concert is on 17 December 2026, near the end of Term 1, which closes on 18 December 2026. Term 2 begins on 6 January 2027. Later open mornings, if you are planning ahead, are Tuesday 12 January 2027 and Tuesday 9 February 2027, both 9:30 to 11:00. Priority applications for August 2027 entry close on 31 March 2027. None of these dates changes the daily hours: arrival 8:20, lessons 8:30 to 15:20, activities until 16:30.
Calendar, bus and lunch, and policies
The parent hub points to three places you will use again. The calendar holds term dates and the eight named events for 2026–27. Bus and lunch covers the optional bus at €1,650 a year on four routes, and the optional lunch programme at €1,280 a year. Policies covers the written statements the school publishes for families, including privacy and safeguarding, together with the absence rule below. Tuition, the application fee and the enrolment deposit are set out on the fees page, not in this hub. For a missed morning, email the office by 8:15 at office@kanade-school.example. The office phone is +351 21 000 4800, and office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:30.
The school day
Arrival is at 8:20, through the campus gate and along the tree-lined path. Lessons run from 8:30 to 15:20. Break is at 10:40, lunch is at 12:30 in the dining hall for students on the lunch programme, and activities run on until 16:30. On activity afternoons the programme starts from 14:30, and by 15:30 students are often on the court, in music or in the library. The office opens at 8:00, before the gate, and closes at 16:30. These hours are the same in Term 1, Term 2 and Term 3. A child leaving at the end of lessons is collected after 15:20. A child who stays for activities is collected by 16:30.
Bus, lunch and absence
The bus is optional, €1,650 for the year, on four routes, with the school stop at Jardim Alto. Lunch is optional, €1,280 for the year, served at 12:30. Neither charge is inside tuition, and neither receives the 10 percent sibling reduction. If your child will be absent, email office@kanade-school.example by 8:15, before arrival at 8:20. Give the child’s name and year group. A later message can still be sent, but 8:15 is the time that reaches the office before the register. The same address handles bus route questions and lunch. Admissions for a sibling is a different inbox: admissions@kanade-school.example, with a reply within two school days.
Policies
Current families use the privacy statement and the safeguarding statement as the two written policies published with the site. Privacy covers how the school uses the details you send to admissions, to the office and to careers. Safeguarding names Rafael Ortiz, Pastoral and Wellbeing Lead, as the person responsible for student welfare during the school day. Absence reporting by 8:15 sits with those expectations. Fee rules that affect a family mid-year are also written down: the application fee is non-refundable, the enrolment deposit is credited to the final term, instalments fall in August, January and April, and full payment by 15 July receives 3 percent off. The office will send the statement that matches your question.
