Primary Years Programme

The Primary Years Programme runs from Kindergarten through Grade 5, for children from the year they turn four up to the end of primary. Teaching is in English. Portuguese starts in Kindergarten, and mother-tongue clubs give room for the languages spoken at home. Tomás Ferreira, Head of Primary, coordinates this part of the school. Classes sit inside a week that begins with arrival at 8:20 and lessons from 8:30 to 15:20. Young children spend time with books, blocks and the library as part of ordinary learning, not as an extra programme. Kindergarten tuition for ages 4–5 is €14,800 for the school year, and Primary Years tuition for Grades 1–5 is €17,600. Both figures are for 2026–27.

Middle Years Programme

The Middle Years Programme is for Grades 6 to 10. Amara Nwosu is MYP Coordinator. Students go on learning in English, continue Portuguese, and add French or German from Grade 6. The Personal Project belongs to Grade 10 and is shown at the Grade 10 Personal Project exhibition. Science learning uses the school laboratories; a new science wing opens in September. Tuition for Middle Years, Grades 6–10, is €20,400 for the 2026–27 school year. The school day is the same as for the rest of the campus: arrival at 8:20, lessons from 8:30 to 15:20, and activities until 16:30. Grade 10 is the last year of MYP before students move into the Diploma Programme.

Diploma Programme

A Grade 12 student writes in a notebook at a library study carrel.

The Diploma Programme is for Grades 11 and 12. Jonas Becker is DP Coordinator. Students work towards the IB Diploma in English, with the library used heavily for the extended essay and for independent study. Priya Raman, DP class of 2025, has written about that essay work and about the library. Tuition for the Diploma Programme, Grades 11–12, is €23,900 for 2026–27, and tuition includes IB exam registration for DP students as well as books and day trips. The programme sits on the same campus as PYP and MYP, so younger and older students share the entrance, the dining hall and the grounds. An offer of a DP place follows the same five admissions steps as every other year group.

Languages

English is the teaching language. Portuguese is taught from Kindergarten. From Grade 6, students take French or German. Mother-tongue clubs support the languages families already speak, which matters in a school of about 40 nationalities. Mei-Lin Chou is Head of Languages and oversees this pathway from the early years through the Diploma Programme. Keeping a home language is part of how the school describes itself: children learn in English, keep the language of home, and leave ready for the IB Diploma. The language teams share the library, where shelves are used for class reading and for quiet study. No separate language fee is charged; language teaching sits inside tuition for the year group.

Arts and sport

Arts and sport run across the campus, from the music room to the outdoor court and the grass field. Students play violin and cello in the music room, and basketball is part of after-school sport on the outdoor court. These are ordinary parts of the week, not a separate academy. On activity afternoons the programme is on the timetable from 14:30, and activities finish by 16:30. Break at 10:40 is time on the field. The lunch hour at 12:30 is in the dining hall for students on the lunch programme. Nothing in arts or sport is billed on top of tuition unless a family chooses the optional lunch programme at €1,280 or the bus at €1,650.
