Library, sport, music and lunch

Four places organise most of the day outside lessons. The library is a bright room where students read in the window light; older students also use it for Diploma study and the extended essay. Sport is on the grass field at break and on the outdoor court after school, including basketball. Music is a working room for violin and cello. Lunch is served in the dining hall at long tables. Break falls at 10:40, lunch at 12:30, and many activities are underway by 15:30. Families see these places on an open morning, Tuesday 10 November 2026, Tuesday 12 January 2027 or Tuesday 9 February 2027, from 9:30 to 11:00. The campus entrance is the low white building under the oak canopy at Rua do Jardim Alto 18.

After-school activities

Lessons run from 8:30 to 15:20. On activity afternoons, clubs and practices are on the timetable from 14:30, and the campus stays open for activities until 16:30. By 15:30 many students are on the outdoor court, in the music room or still in the library. The activities grow out of the school’s own arts and sport, including strings and basketball, rather than from a separate list of outside providers. Arrival in the morning is 8:20. Students who go home at the end of lessons leave after 15:20; students who stay are finished by 16:30, which is also when the office closes. Parents who need the later finish can match it with the bus or with their own pickup at the gate.

The school bus

The school bus is optional and costs €1,650 for the school year. Four routes serve the campus. The stop beside the school is Jardim Alto. Families who use public transport instead can come by Metro and then bus 728 to that stop. The bus charge is not included in tuition and is not covered by the 10 percent reduction for a third and further child. It can be paid with the fee instalments in August, January and April. Morning arrival at school is 8:20, so routes are timed for the gate at that hour. The office can confirm whether a home address sits on one of the four routes. Write to office@kanade-school.example or call +351 21 000 4800.

Lunch

The lunch programme is optional and costs €1,280 for the school year. Students on the programme eat in the dining hall at 12:30. The charge is separate from tuition. Tuition itself includes books, day trips, and IB exam registration for Diploma Programme students, but it does not include lunch or the bus. The 10 percent reduction for a third and further child applies to tuition only, not to lunch. Families who do not take the programme should arrange their own midday meal. Questions about menus and about starting or stopping lunch go to office@kanade-school.example during office hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:30. The dining hall is one of the places walked on an open morning.
