Questions

Ten answers cover arrival, the rooms, and payment. The times, prices, and limits are the same ones used at the desk.

Arrival

What time can I check in and when do I leave?

Check-in is from 15:00. Check-out is by 11:00. The front desk is open twenty-four hours, so you may arrive later than 15:00 on the day your room is held and still collect the key from Tomás Ferreira’s team, or from Aiyana Brooks if it is late. A room is not ready before 15:00. If you are early, you may leave a suitcase and use the lobby. Late check-out until 15:00 is €30 per room and only applies if it has been added to the booking. It is not included in the Studio, Corner, Loft, or long-stay rate. On Saturday and Sunday, breakfast runs until 11:00, which meets check-out but does not extend it. The six-minute walk to Wrenfield Central is the same in the afternoon and in the morning. Put the arrival time in your enquiry if it is much later than 15:00, so the desk expects you.

How do I reach 18 Tessel Street?

The address is 18 Tessel Street, Wrenfield. From Wrenfield Central station the walk takes six minutes. The entrance is an oak and glass door, lit at dusk, on a quiet street of brick and glass. If you are being driven, give that address; there is no separate coach entrance. Check-in starts at 15:00, and the person who meets you is at the front desk inside the lobby. The telephone, if the door is hard to spot, is +00 (0)20 4180 1931. The email is hello@akari-hotel.example. We reply to enquiries within one working day. The building was a printing house in 1931 and has been Akari Hotel since 2019. You do not need a code for the street door during desk hours, and the desk never closes. Aiyana Brooks covers the night walk-up from the station after the bar has closed at 00:30.

Is anyone at the desk at night?

Yes. The front desk is staffed twenty-four hours. Aiyana Brooks is the night manager. Quiet hours in the house run from 23:00 to 07:00, which changes how the corridors sound, not whether you can reach a person. The bar, led by Priya Raman, closes at 00:30. After that, questions come to the desk: a key, a taxi, an early note for breakfast, city tax if you are leaving before the morning team. The phone +00 (0)20 4180 1931 is answered. Breakfast itself does not start until 07:00, or you may sleep through it. If you will arrive after 23:00, say so when you confirm. The card you gave when you confirmed still holds the room, and check-in remains the same arrival, only later. Nothing in the night shift replaces a booking. You still need a confirmed room before you travel.

Can I leave my bag if the room is not ready?

Yes. Before 15:00, or on the morning of departure after you have checked out by 11:00, the desk will take a suitcase. Lucie Morel’s housekeeping team releases the room; Tomás Ferreira’s team tells you when the key is ready and has the bag sent up. You can wait in the lobby. There is no separate luggage fee in our rates. The six published prices do not include a charge for holding a bag. If you have a meeting between giving the room back and your train, the six-minute walk to Wrenfield Central is easier without the case, and the desk expects that. Tell them if the bag should not go up without you. Pets are not accepted, and a bag is not a way around that rule. Smoking is not allowed in the lobby while you wait.

Rooms

Which rooms can I book, and what is in them?

There are forty-two rooms. Twenty-four are Studios: 19 square metres, queen bed, desk by the window, €148 per night. Twelve are Corner rooms: 26 square metres, king bed, two windows, €186 per night. Six are Lofts: 34 square metres, king bed, desk on a mezzanine with a steel stair, €238 per night. Each room takes two guests at most and has its own bath, with a walk-in shower and a stone basin. Breakfast is included. Wi-Fi is included. A Studio of five nights or more is €132 per night instead of €148. The reading room is not a bedroom; it is a meeting room for six at €90 for four hours. When you enquire, name the room type. We reply within one working day with availability and the rate that matches the length of stay. We will not switch you into a Loft unless you asked for one.

Do you allow more than two guests, children, or pets?

Each room takes a maximum of two guests. That applies to the Studio, the Corner, and the Loft. The mezzanine in the Loft is a desk, not a third bed. We do not add a cot and we do not join two rates into one room. If three people are travelling, book a second room. Children count toward the two. Pets are not accepted, for a night or for a long stay. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms or elsewhere in the building. Quiet hours from 23:00 to 07:00 apply to every guest. The reading room holds a meeting of up to six during a booked half day, and those six are not overnight guests of that room. If your party does not fit these limits, say so in the enquiry anyway. We would rather reply that we cannot take the booking than discover it at 15:00 at the desk.

Which rooms are step-free?

Two Corner rooms are step-free from the entrance to the room and into the bath. They are among the twelve Corner rooms, at the same rate of €186 per night, breakfast included, king bed, 26 square metres. They are not a separate price and not an upgrade offered on the day. Ask for a step-free Corner when you send your dates. If one of the two is free, the reply within one working day will say so. If both are taken, we will say that too and will not move you into a Studio or a Loft while calling it step-free. The Loft has a steel stair to the desk mezzanine. The Studio is not one of the two step-free rooms. Lucie Morel’s team and Tomás Ferreira’s team both know which doors qualify. Repeat the request when you confirm with the card, so it stays on the booking.

Payment

What does the nightly rate include?

The nightly rate includes the room and breakfast. Breakfast is 07:00 to 10:30, and until 11:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Wi-Fi is included. Water at the bar is included from 17:00 to 00:30. The desk in the room is included. The Studio is €148, the Corner €186, the Loft €238, and a Studio of five nights or more is €132. Those figures are per night, in euro. Late check-out until 15:00 is not included; it is €30 per room. The reading room is not included; a half day of four hours is €90. Drinks other than water at the bar are not included. Printing for a work stay is arranged with Daniel Okafor and is not inside the night rate. City tax is not inside the night rate either. It is paid at the desk. The amount is not listed on this page.

How do I confirm, and can I cancel?

Send your dates and the room type. We reply within one working day with availability and the rate. You confirm with a card. Cancellation is free until forty-eight hours before arrival. After that, the card is used as stated in the confirmation. The enquiry email is hello@akari-hotel.example, and the phone is +00 (0)20 4180 1931. You do not confirm by walking in, though the desk can take a question at any hour. A reply that offers a rate is not yet a booking. The booking exists when you have confirmed and we have acknowledged the card. If you change the dates, send another message; a change follows the same forty-eight-hour rule relative to the arrival you are moving. The long-stay rate of €132 applies only when the Studio stay is five nights or more at the time it is confirmed.

When do I pay the city tax?

City tax is paid at the desk. It is not included in the €148, €186, €238, or €132 nightly rates, and it is not the €30 late check-out or the €90 reading room. The amount is not stated on the website. The desk tells you what is due for your nights when you settle. You can pay it on arrival from 15:00 or when you check out by 11:00. Aiyana Brooks can take it at night if that is when you are leaving. The card you gave to confirm the booking is for the reservation. Ask the desk whether the tax sits on that card or is taken separately; they will follow the rule in force for your dates and will say so before anything is taken. Two guests is the maximum the room was sold for, and the tax conversation uses the party you actually have in the room.
