The books came back

Hana Yilmaz used a Closet for fourteen months. A Closet is 1.5 m² (16 sq ft) at $62 a month, described on the price list as a wardrobe’s worth and a folded bike. Her load was books. At the end of those fourteen months she shelved them at home again, out of the cartons, which is the moment the piece is named for.

The minimum term is one month, so a stay of fourteen months is simply month following month, with thirty days’ notice when the books were ready to leave. Nothing in her stay required a different price or a different building. The Closet was in the same building as every other size: 48 Alder Row, Lindenport, climate-held like the rooms around it. The piece is filed under stories.
