Sports Injury

Physician and physiotherapist together, in one visit

From the twist or the tweak to back on the field

Whether the injury was sudden or built up over a season, the sports injury assessment gives you a diagnosis, a plan and a sensible next step the same week.

Acute injury

Sprains, strains, tears

First 48 hours

Protect the joint, keep it moving within comfort, and note whether you can put weight on it. Swelling that increases, a joint that gives way, numbness or pain at night are reasons to book promptly.

What we do

The sports injury assessment is 50 minutes with Dr. Grace Whitfield and a physiotherapist in the room. We examine the joint, scan on site if it helps (ultrasound $160, X-ray $85) and write a plan before you leave.

Overuse injury

Tendons, shins, stress injuries

Why it builds

Overuse injuries usually follow a change in training: more distance, a new surface, new shoes or too little recovery. The pain is often mild at first and easy to ignore.

What we do

We look at load, technique and strength together, and usually keep you training in a modified way. Imaging is used only when the examination suggests it will change the plan.

Return-to-play testing

Before full training

The tests

Return-to-play testing includes hop and single-leg strength tests, balance work and a graded running check with the physiotherapist. It tells you where you are, not when you will be fully recovered.

Working with coaches

With your permission we write a short summary for your coach or trainer, covering what you can do now, what to avoid and what comes next. We do not promise outcomes or timelines; recovery differs from person to person.

Sports injury assessment

$195 · 50 minutes

One visit, two clinicians

The assessment costs $195 and takes 50 minutes. It is held with a sports medicine physician and a physiotherapist together, so that the diagnosis and the first week of the plan arrive at the same time. Follow-up physiotherapy sessions are $110 (45 minutes), or $600 for a pack of six.

Request by Wednesday 17:00 and we reply within one business day with a time the same week.

Book the assessment

Bring any imaging, your usual training shoes and a note of what you are training for.
