Preparing for a joint replacement

If you and your surgeon have decided on a hip or knee replacement, the weeks before the operation matter more than most people think. Strength, home set-up and a clear plan make the first weeks easier.

Before the day

Practise the exercises you will do after surgery, so that they are familiar. Set up a chair of the right height, clear loose rugs and plan who will help in the first week.

What we do at Hone

Dr. Raman explains the operation and recovery in the consultation ($240, 40 minutes), and the physiotherapist writes the programme before the day of surgery so that you meet the person who will see you afterwards.

Recovery differs from person to person, and your surgeon will explain what to expect for you.
