A first physiotherapy session is mostly a conversation and an assessment, followed by a few exercises. A little preparation makes it more useful.
What to wear
Loose clothing you can move in, and shorts for a lower-limb problem or a tank top for a shoulder. Bring the shoes you walk or train in, not your best pair.
What to bring
Any imaging or surgical notes, a list of your medications and your goal in one sentence: for example, “walk the dog for 30 minutes” or “return to a weekly 5 km run”.
Questions worth asking
How often should I come? What should I do at home every day? What should make me call you sooner? Each session is 45 minutes ($110), or buy a pack of six for $600.
