Questions & Answers
Find straightforward details below about our harvest schedule, crate options, delivery boundaries, and membership policies. If you have questions not covered here, our member desk is ready to help Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00.
When are the vegetables harvested and delivered?
Our partner farms harvest all produce on Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting at 5:00 while the air is cool. Crate sorting and packing at our Wren Valley barn finish by 9:00, and crates are delivered to doorsteps the same afternoon between 14:00 and 19:00. This four-hour morning turnaround ensures vegetables arrive on your counter mere hours after harvest, without spending days in regional transit or supermarket cooling warehouses.
Which city neighbourhoods do you deliver to?
We deliver to twelve designated city neighbourhoods located within forty kilometres of our packing barn: Riverside, Old Mill, Canal Quarter, Northgate, Linden Park, Harbour Row, Elm Hill, Station Square, Westbrook, Fairfield, Southbank, and Kestrel Heights. By keeping our route network strictly within this 40-kilometre boundary, delivery lead Lena Sorensen and our drivers ensure prompt afternoon delivery without compromising the freshness of morning-picked greens.
What crate sizes are available and what do they cost?
We offer three crate sizes and a fortnightly schedule. The Small crate serves 1–2 people with 6 kinds of produce for $24 / week. The Standard crate suits 2–4 people with 9 kinds weighing about 4.5 kilograms for $32 / week. The Large crate feeds 4–6 people with 12 kinds for $44 / week. You may also select the Every-other-week standard crate for $34 / delivery.
How does the wooden crate exchange work?
We pack all produce into reusable wooden crates with a $0 crate deposit. When your weekly delivery arrives, simply place your empty wooden crate and folded paper wrap outside your door. Our delivery drivers collect the previous crate when dropping off your fresh box, returning it to our Wren Valley barn to be cleaned and repacked. This closed-loop system eliminates single-use cardboard and plastic packaging.
How do I pause, skip, or change my delivery?
You can pause your membership, skip a delivery, or switch between Tuesday and Thursday schedules at any time through your online member dashboard. Because our partner growers harvest to exact demand, all changes, skips, and pauses must be completed before Sunday at 20:00. Any adjustment made prior to Sunday evening takes effect for the coming week's harvest without penalty or extra fee.
Where do you source your vegetables?
All vegetables are grown by six independent partner farms situated within sixty kilometres of our packing barn at 14 Orchard Lane in Wren Valley. Co-founder Ines Calder coordinates directly with growers like Hana Moreau of Moreau Field, Rafael Ortiz of Ortiz Roots, Priya Nair of Nair Herb Garden, and Kwame Mensah of Mensah Hill. We never purchase produce from wholesale auctions or industrial distributors.
What add-ons can I order with my crate?
Members can add fresh farm staples to their regular vegetable delivery. We offer a dozen free-range eggs for $7, gathered from pasture hens at our partner farms, and an extra herb bundle for $4, hand-tied fresh on packing morning by Priya Nair. These add-ons are placed directly inside your wooden crate alongside your seasonal vegetables, arriving at your doorstep without separate packaging or additional delivery surcharges.
What if I live outside your current delivery area?
If your home is located outside our twelve delivery neighbourhoods, we invite you to register your address on our waitlist page. We review incoming location requests continually as we evaluate future route expansions from our packing barn in Wren Valley. When sufficient interest gathers in an adjacent district within 40 kilometres, waitlist members receive advance notification and early access to open delivery spots.
How much produce is included in a standard crate?
A standard crate contains nine distinct kinds of vegetables and greens, weighing approximately 4.5 kilograms in total. This quantity is intentionally balanced to supply a household of two to four people with a full week of daily home cooking. The selection includes crisp salad greens, hearty cooking leaves, root crops, alliums, and culinary herbs harvested fresh that morning from our six regional farm partners.
What happens if I am not home during delivery?
You do not need to be home to receive your box. Our drivers deliver between 14:00 and 19:00 on Tuesday and Thursday, placing your wooden crate in a sheltered location you specify, such as a covered front porch, building entryway, or with a neighbour. Unbleached paper wraps protect your greens from drafts and keep them cool until you unpack them into your kitchen.
When is your member desk available?
Our member desk is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 to answer questions, adjust account details, or assist with delivery instructions. You can reach out whenever you need help managing your subscription or coordinating crate returns. Outside these operating hours, you can update your delivery preferences or pause your membership directly through your account before the Sunday 20:00 cutoff.
Can I customize the specific vegetables in my crate?
Our crates are curated by our team based on what is ripe and harvested at 5:00 that morning across our six partner farms. By keeping the crate contents unified rather than customized, Tomas Achebe and our barn crew can pack crates by 9:00, while growers avoid surplus field waste. This disciplined approach maintains peak harvest freshness, fair pricing, and consistent seasonal flavour every week.
