Papers we keep

Airmail Bank is 45 gsm, A4, 100 sheets, €9. The surface is thin and translucent, and a stack shows fanned edges when you lift it. It is for long letters abroad, so the ink on it is the ink of a letter that has to travel, not a sheet we sell for drawing on both sides.

We do not publish a show-through figure. Leave it at A4, or ask for a cut if the letter must be smaller. Joris Van Acker cuts sample sets and finished sizes on the mat. Cutting is free. Paper cut to size cannot be returned. An unopened pack can be returned within 30 days.

Everyday Bond is 80 gsm, A4, 250 sheets, €12. The surface is bright white and the edges are square-cut, so a ream sits flush. It suits daily writing and printing, which is why Bram in Leuven used it for a thesis and why we also point households and small studios to it. Ink here means ordinary writing and ordinary printing.

We do not publish a toner score or an inkjet score. If you need a size other than A4, we cut it at the counter for nothing. Keep the pack unopened if you might send it back. Returns are 30 days, and only on unopened paper.

Laid Writing is 100 gsm, A4, 100 sheets, €14. Held to the light, the chain lines in the laid surface are visible. That surface is why the sheet exists. We keep it for letters by hand, so the ink we expect on it is pen on those lines, not a printed page. Fountain pens have their own sheet, Soft Wove.

We do not publish a bleed test for either. An A4 sheet folds twice into our C6 envelope. If the letter should be smaller still, we cut it on the mat at no charge. A cut sheet stays sold. An unopened pack can come back within 30 days.

Soft Wove is 120 gsm, A4, 50 sheets, €13. The surface is a soft wove, faintly warm white, without laid lines. It is the paper we name for fountain pens. The ink has this quieter face rather than the thin airmail sheet, and we still do not quote a dry time or a feathering score.

It suits pen notes and pen letters. At the counter you can hold it to the window beside a plain envelope, which is what Noor did. We cut it when the note is not A4. The cut is free, and cut paper cannot be returned. Unopened packs can, within 30 days.

Grey Card is 250 gsm, A5, 25 sheets, €11. The surface is grey card with thick, square edges. It suits cards and backing, including thank-you cards and mounting, not a long letter. People write a few words on a card cut from it. We do not treat it as a prose sheet, and we do not publish an ink-density figure.

Many cards can stay A5. If you need another size, Joris cuts it on the mat for nothing. Once it is cut, it cannot be returned. An unopened pack of 25 can be returned within 30 days. The kraft wrap, if you are posting cards, is free.

Cotton Rag is 300 gsm, A3, 10 sheets, €24. The surface is cotton rag and the edges are deckle, not square. It suits watercolour and invitations. Those are the only two jobs we sell it for. We do not give a soaking time or a weight of water. Sofia and Dan in Antwerp used it for forty invitations, one sheet at a time.

The sheet is A3, so a smaller invitation is a counter cut, and the cut is free. A cut sheet cannot be returned. An unopened pack can be returned within 30 days. Tomás Rivera wraps a flat parcel in kraft paper and cotton tape when the sheets are leaving the shop.
