Set up Claude Code for ShipPress
Claude Code is one of the five AI tools ShipPress works with. This tutorial sets it up from scratch: pick it in the first-run tour, install it with one click, sign in to your own Claude account, and choose which Claude model your Workers use.
By Oberon Lai. I make ShipPress (Codotx, LLC), so this is our own product. Anthropic is not affiliated with ShipPress, and there are no affiliate links on this page.

Pick Claude Code in Connect your AI
The first time you open ShipPress, a short tour starts. Step 2 is Connect your AI: pick the AI that builds your site. Choose Claude Code. You can also do everything below later in Settings › Your AI.
-
Click Install Claude Code
If Claude Code isn't on your computer yet, ShipPress says Claude Code is not installed and shows an Install Claude Code button. Click it. ShipPress runs Claude's official installer in the background, into your home folder, so there's no command to type and no administrator password. It takes about a minute or two. If the install doesn't work, the official install line and install guide are shown right below as a fallback.
-
Sign in to your Claude account
When the install finishes, the status changes to Not signed in. You sign in in Claude's own tool, not in ShipPress: open a terminal, run
claude, and follow the sign-in steps in the browser page that opens. You need a Claude plan that includes Claude Code; check claude.com/pricing. ShipPress never sees or keeps your password. -
Click Check again
Back in ShipPress, click Check again. When the status says Signed in, Claude Code is ready. If ShipPress can't find Claude Code, set its Program path or click Re-detect.
-
Choose Claude Code and the model
In Settings › Your AI, the New Workers column picks which AI new Workers use: select Claude Code. A Worker is the AI helper that changes your site while you chat. Under Model, pick the Claude model. I use sonnet for most site work; haiku is quicker for small jobs.
-
Next: make your first site
That's it. Make a website, and your Workers will use Claude Code. See your first site next, or signing in to your AI for the other AI tools.
