Rain does most of the cleaning for you. If the panels are tilted at 15 degrees or more and there is regular rain, leave them alone.
Clean them if birds, pollen or a nearby building site leave a film, and do it from the ground with water and a soft brush. Never go onto the roof for it; our $190 annual visit covers it safely.
