[02] When a battery makes sense

Honest maths, not a sales pitch.

A battery stores solar power for the evening. It pays back slowly for many households, and we say so. It makes sense when you use most of your electricity after six, when export rates are poor, or when you want backup for a few essential circuits.

We fit one battery size, 13.5 kWh, because it covers a typical evening and keeps the design simple. Priya Natarajan, our licensed electrician, installs every battery and charger.

[04] EV charging

A charger is an electrical job first.

Before we fit a charger we check the fuse board, the cable run and what else is on the circuit, because a car draws power for hours. Most homes can take a 48 A charger; some need a small board upgrade, which we quote before starting.

If you already have solar, the charger can be set to run when the panels are producing.
