Shirabe Research operates with fixed, transparent fee structures across all standard research packages. Every engagement scope is clearly defined in advance, excluding VAT and direct participant incentives.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT and participant incentives. Payment is 50/50: half at the start, half on delivery. Cancellation needs 10 working days’ notice.

Standard Study Engagements and Pricing Ledger
Our standard research offerings are structured into five distinct engagements. Discovery interviews run for four weeks, comprising eight one-to-one sixty-minute interviews, complete recordings, and a written report from $9,800. Concept testing spans five weeks, covering twelve interviews with printed concepts, paper charting, and an executive readout from $12,400. In-context visits require five weeks for six comprehensive workplace or home observational visits with photo notes and analytical reporting from $14,500. Interviews with follow-up survey spans seven weeks, incorporating twelve qualitative interviews and a 400-person quantitative survey to size findings from $18,900. Finally, our Readout workshop provides a focused half-day session with your team on existing research for $2,400 across one day.

Billing Terms, Invoicing, and Cancellations
All commercial projects are billed under a structured fifty-fifty payment arrangement: fifty percent upon formal project initiation and contract signing, and the remaining fifty percent upon final delivery of the written report and readout presentation. Published fees exclude value-added tax and participant cash honorariums, which are agreed in the initial project brief and invoiced separately at direct net cost without agency markup. If project timelines require cancellation or major postponement, written notice must be received at least ten working days prior to scheduled fieldwork commencement. Cancellations received inside ten working days incur recruitment expenses and studio reservation charges already incurred.

What is included in the published study fees?
Every published study fee covers comprehensive end-to-end management by our permanent seven-person team. This includes participant screening and scheduling by Ingrid Solberg, interview moderation by Clara Wendt or Nadia Haddad, and full studio rental for Studio A or Studio B at our Northbank premises. Clients receive high-fidelity audio recordings, complete verbatim transcripts transcribed by Wei-Lin Chou, collaborative paper charting sessions on our studio walls, and a bound written report delivered alongside an executive readout presentation. The only external expenses not included in our base prices are participant compensation incentives and applicable statutory VAT.
