Hanna Moreau or Ravi Menon chooses one book a month from a short note about your reading. It is ready by the 10th, to collect or to post in the UK.
( HOW IT WORKS )
How it works
You fill in a short reading note at the counter, or you send it by email. Three books you loved, and one you did not. That is the whole note. It is enough for someone here to see where your taste sits, and where it stops.
Hanna Moreau or Ravi Menon chooses your book by the 5th of each month. Hanna buys the new books for the shop. Ravi looks after orders and the shelf subscription. One of them picks. The book is one we would put on the front table, or one we know you have not got to yet.
It is wrapped and ready by the 10th. You can collect it from the shop, or we post it in the UK. The wrap is the shop’s plain paper and cotton string. Nothing on the parcel is there to announce itself from across a room.
If you already own the book, swap it within 30 days. Tell us at the counter, or by email, and we will choose again from the same note. You do not need a new form. The first note still stands until you want to change it.

The monthly shelf subscription is £24 / month. One book a month, chosen for you by a bookseller, to collect or with UK post included. The three-month gift is £70. Three books, one a month, with a card in your words. Both use the same choosing: the note, the 5th, the 10th, and the swap within 30 days. Prices are in pounds sterling, the same in every language. A gift voucher, if you would rather let someone choose for themselves, is a different thing at £25, a printed card with no expiry, to spend on anything in the shop. The subscription is for when you want us to choose.

Giving it to someone?
A three-month gift is three books and a card in your words. You write the card. We choose the books from a note about the person who will read them: three books they loved, and one they did not, if you know it. If you do not know, tell us what you have seen them read, and Hanna or Ravi will start from that.
