( CHANGES EVERY TUESDAY )
The new shelves
The front table changes every Tuesday. Hanna Moreau buys what goes on it, and a book still in print can be ordered free, usually in 2–4 working days.
( THE FRONT TABLE )
The front table
Hanna Moreau buys the new books. She has done that since she and Callum Reid opened the shop in 2011. What she brings in goes on the front table first, face out, and the table changes every Tuesday. Fiction, poetry and essays lead. A book that has had its week on the table moves back to the shelf, and the next small stack takes the space. Nothing on that table is there by a distributor’s plan. If you come on a Wednesday the Tuesday change is already done. If you come on a Monday the shop is closed, and the new stack waits until Tuesday morning, when the doors open again at 10:00.
If a book is still in print and it is not on the table or the shelf, we will order it. A special order is free. It usually takes 2–4 working days, and we text you when it arrives. Ravi Menon looks after orders, and he looks after the shelf subscription as well. Tell him the title and the author at the counter, or by email to hello@shioribooks.example. You do not pay for the ordering. You pay for the book when you collect it, at the price on the book.
