After surgery
rehabilitation
Rehabilitation at Hodoki Clinic follows your surgeon’s protocol after knee, hip, or shoulder replacement, and after ligament repair. A post-surgery session is 60 minutes and costs $90.

SURGERY
Inside the surgeon’s protocol
Knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, and ligament repair, each come with limits that are not ours to redraw. Before the first session we want the protocol your surgeon gave you, the date of the operation, and what you have been told you may and may not do.
Tomasz Wolski leads knee and hip rehabilitation. Priya Nair leads post-surgery shoulder work. Tell us which joint when you book, and Elena Duarte will place you with the right person. We do not offer a set week-by-week recovery. What stays the same is the order: protect the repair, restore movement you can use, then return to stairs, the walk to work, and the desk.

three phases
Protect, restore, return.

#01
Protect
The early phase is protection.

#02
Restore
When the protocol allows more, we restore range you can use and the strength to carry it.

#03
Return
Return means the specific things you stopped doing.
Protect. The early phase is protection. The aim is not a hard session. It is to keep the joint safe while swelling settles and while you learn the movements your protocol allows. On the table that may be a careful heel slide, a supported bend, or a shoulder range that stays inside the angles you were given. We watch how you stand, how you get off the bed, and how you take weight.
You leave with a short home programme and a clear stop-point: what should wait. A post-surgery session is 60 minutes. If something in the protocol is unclear, we pause rather than add a load the surgeon did not ask for. Strength that belongs to a later phase stays there.
Restore. When the protocol allows more, we restore range you can use and the strength to carry it. A knee that bends on the table still has to bend on a stair. A shoulder that lifts in the bay still has to reach a shelf without the neck taking over.
This is supported practice in the studio: loading you can repeat, gait, and steady work with a wall bar, checked against the surgeon’s limits. Tomasz or Priya stays with the plan, so the person who measured you is the person who loads you. Follow-ups are usually every one to two weeks. We change the home programme when the tests change. At week six we ask whether the pace still fits the protocol and your week.
Return. Return means the specific things you stopped doing. For many people that is the station stairs, a full day at a desk, or a walk that used to be ordinary. We practise those tasks rather than collecting exercises that never meet them.
Marcus, 58, had a knee replacement and completed twelve rehab sessions over fourteen weeks with Tomasz. He walks to work again and takes the stairs at the station. That is his return, shared with his consent. Yours might be different, and we will name it in the written plan. If your surgeon has a date for driving, lifting, or a fuller load, we do not move that date to make the story neater.

TO YOUR STAIRS.

the rehabilitation fee
A post-surgery rehabilitation session is 60 minutes and costs $90. A first visit for assessment and treatment, if that is the better first hour, is 60 minutes at $95. Ask Elena which fee applies when you book. Many people after an operation start on the rehabilitation session once we know the protocol.
What the session covers
You do not need a package. Five follow-ups of 45 minutes, used within four months, cost $340 if that spacing suits you later. Single follow-ups are $75 for 45 minutes, or $55 for 30 minutes. Cancel up to 24 hours before the start and there is no charge. Bring clothes you can move in, and the protocol. We give you a receipt with treatment codes for your insurer.
Do you replace my surgeon’s instructions?
No. The protocol is the boundary of the session. We will not add range, load, or a date that your surgeon has not allowed. If the paper and your memory of the appointment disagree, we follow the paper and help you check back.
What we add is time, testing, and practice. The surgeon names the limits. We help you move well inside them, in a 60-minute session, with a home programme small enough to keep. When you no longer need to come every week, we say so. Book on +1 555 0142 300 or online, and name the operation in the first sentence.
