Eczema settles best with a routine that is boring and daily. Bathe briefly in lukewarm water, pat the skin dry and apply a plain, fragrance-free moisturiser within a few minutes, while the skin is still slightly damp.
Use a prescribed anti-inflammatory cream only on the patches it was given for, for as long as the doctor said, then go back to moisturiser alone. If the skin is weeping, very sore or not improving after two weeks, book a review.
