Experiences in Care

Read about the everyday experiences of patients and families who have received home nursing and rehabilitation support from our Linden Vale team.

Everyday experiences

When illness or injury interrupts normal routines,

healing often unfolds most comfortably

in the familiar spaces of home.

Our visiting nurses and therapists work

quietly alongside patients

in their living rooms and kitchens.

Rather than imposing rigid hospital schedules, we tailor each visit to the practical contours of daily life, supporting patients as they regain mobility, adjust to new medical regimens, or spend peaceful final weeks surrounded by family.

Story 01

Rosa’s Rehabilitation: Walking to the Bakery

At 82 years old, Rosa returned home to Linden Vale following a complex hip operation. Unfamiliar stairs and hallway thresholds felt daunting, and simple tasks like boiling a kettle required substantial effort. Our physiotherapist Priya Raman initiated a six-week programme of home rehabilitation visits. Early sessions focused on safe transfers between bed and chair, followed by balancing drills using the kitchen counter. Within three weeks, Rosa was practicing steady laps along her interior corridor with a walking frame. As strength improved, Priya accompanied Rosa outside onto the pavement. By the sixth week, Rosa felt confident navigating curbs and walking down the street to her neighborhood bakery with a single walking stick. Her experience illustrates how patient, home-based rehabilitation helps restore everyday mobility step by step.

Story 02

Mr. Delacroix: Mastering Daily Insulin

After receiving a diagnosis requiring daily insulin injections, Mr. Delacroix felt overwhelmed by pen dials, needle disposal, and blood glucose monitoring. Sofia Brandt began visiting his home three times a week. Sitting beside him at his dining table, Sofia guided his hands through priming the pen, checking cartridge levels, and rotating injection sites across his abdomen. They kept a clear logbook beside his morning tea mug. As Mr. Delacroix grew comfortable reading blood glucose numbers and calculating correct dosages, visits gradually tapered from three times weekly to two, and eventually to a single check-in. Having clinical guidance in his own kitchen allowed him to develop confidence and establish a calm, predictable daily routine without hospital visits.

Story 03

The Haddad Family: Supported at Home

During their father’s final weeks with advanced illness, the Haddad family wished for him to remain resting in his own bedroom, surrounded by familiar photographs and the presence of his grandchildren. Lead nurse Jonah Abebe coordinated a comprehensive palliative visit schedule, managing medication administration, skin comfort, and symptom relief. Crucially, the family was enrolled in our 24-hour on-call line. When questions arose late in the evening regarding breathing changes or dose timing, Tomás Ferreira and Jonah provided immediate phone guidance and conducted evening visits whenever necessary. This steady clinical presence enabled the family to focus on companionship and quiet farewells, confident that professional medical assistance was always within reach just down the road in Linden Vale.

These are one family’s or one patient’s experience, not a promise: every plan is different, and every plan is agreed with you first.
