Rental Instrument Families

We provide rentals across three core instrument families: band and orchestra brass and woodwinds, orchestral strings, and digital keyboards. Band instruments include student flutes, clarinets, alto saxophones, trumpets, and trombones inspected by Sofia Brandt. String rentals cover fractional and full-size violins, violas, and cellos fitted by Leila Haddad with balanced bows and protective cases. For keyboard students, Kenji Arai selects weighted 88-key digital pianos that deliver authentic acoustic key response and headphone jacks for quiet home practice.

RATES

Our rental program is structured to make starting an instrument simple and transparent. Band-instrument rental starts from $29 / month, covering cleaned, fully regulated student instruments with cases and basic care accessories. Violins and student cellos are available at comparable monthly rates, while digital pianos are rented on simple monthly terms. Payments are processed on the same date each month in USD. There are no mandatory multi-year commitments, and you may return the instrument whenever you choose without penalty.

The Rent-to-Own Rule

We believe rental payments should contribute directly to instrument ownership if a player decides to continue. Under our rent-to-own rule, all rental payments made during your first 12 months count toward the purchase price of the instrument you are renting, or toward any upgraded model in our shop. If your child progresses from a student trumpet to an intermediate horn, your first year of payments applies directly to that purchase. Nia Okoro can review your credit balance anytime at the ground-floor desk.

How to Rent, Return, or Keep

Starting a rental takes only a few minutes at our ground-floor desk. Visit 14 Calder Lane between 11:00 and 20:00 Tuesday through Sunday, or speak with Nia Okoro to reserve an instrument in advance. Every rental instrument is adjusted by our technicians before leaving the shop. If you ever need routine pad checks, string replacements, or neck adjustments, our workbench handles maintenance promptly. Whenever you are ready, you can return the instrument, continue renting monthly, or complete purchase through your accumulated rental credit.
