Opened in 2014
Dr. Elena Varga opened Aoba Veterinary Clinic in 2014 after twelve years in a city referral hospital. She chose a street-level practice in Fairhaven, and the address has stayed 214 Alder Street. The work is general practice for dogs and cats, with surgery and dentistry in the same building, led by a director whose own field is internal medicine.
A smaller clinic was the point. The first conversation with an owner can last long enough to hear the real history, and the people who do the surgery, the dentistry and the nursing are colleagues on the same corridor, not a distant department. Fairhaven has been the setting since that opening year. The phone is +1 555 0142 300 and the desk email is hello@aobavet.example.
Dogs and cats
Aoba Veterinary Clinic sees dogs and cats only. The waiting rooms, the handling and the way the day is timed are built for those two, because that is the medicine the team practises every day. Cats have a room of their own, so a carrier is not set down in the middle of dogs. Dogs are examined, admitted and discharged on a path that leaves the cat room quiet.
Stock, equipment and appointment length follow the same choice. Dr. Varga brought that focus from twelve years of referral work into a general practice she could keep personal. If you share your home with a dog or a cat in Fairhaven, this is the clinic that was arranged for that animal.

Thirty-minute first consultations
A first consultation is 30 minutes and the fee is $65. The length is deliberate. It covers a full examination, time to hear how the problem started, and time to explain what we find in ordinary language. Treatment is not started in the same breath as the diagnosis. You receive a written estimate first, and prices on the published list include tax.
A follow-up consultation is 15 minutes at $45, which is enough to judge whether a plan is working. The longer first visit is how a small clinic takes the time to listen. It is also why we ask you to book, rather than hoping to be seen between other animals. Urgent same-day slots still exist on weekdays, and they are arranged by phone.
Time, clarity and calm
Time is the first value. The 30-minute first consultation, and the 15-minute follow-up, exist so the history and the examination are done properly and the plan is explained before anyone is asked to agree. Clarity is the second. We show you what we find, and we write the estimate before treatment. The fee list is public, from the $65 first consultation to a dental scale and polish under anaesthesia from $320. You should be able to read what a visit may cost before you are at the desk.
Calm is the third. Dogs and cats wait apart. Handling stays as gentle as a proper examination allows. Within 48 hours of a visit, a nurse calls. If you were unsure whether to come, a nurse will tell you on the phone whether it can wait.
