Our clinic
A small clinic that takes the time to listen.
Most dogs and cats who come to Aoba Veterinary Clinic are not in crisis. An appetite has dropped, a walk has shortened, or an owner wants a proper look before a small change becomes a larger one. We are one clinic on Alder Street in Fairhaven, founded in 2014, and we see dogs and cats only. Appointments are long enough to hear the history rather than fit it into a few minutes.
A first consultation is 30 minutes and includes a full examination. You are shown what we find, and if treatment is needed you receive a written estimate before it starts. Cats settle in their own waiting room. Within 48 hours a nurse calls to ask how things are going at home. The same people stay with the case from that first conversation through to the follow-up.

Signs that are worth a visit
Some changes can be watched for a day. Others should be seen sooner. If your dog or cat seems clearly unwell, call the clinic. On weekdays we keep urgent same-day slots, and a nurse can tell you whether to come in or whether it can wait until a booked visit.
- Not eating for more than a day
- Limping that lasts beyond 24 hours
- Drinking much more than usual
- Repeated vomiting or diarrhoea
- Scratching ears or shaking the head
- Breathing faster at rest
- A cat hiding more than usual
- Lumps that change size
If you are unsure, call us — a nurse will tell you whether it can wait. You do not need a diagnosis before you phone. Bring a short note of when the sign started, and a photo or video if you have one.

How we examine, explain and plan
01
Book
Phone +1 555 0142 300 or email hello@aobavet.example. A first consultation is 30 minutes and includes a full examination. A follow-up consultation is 15 minutes. Say if your animal is a cat, so we can keep the arrival quiet.
02
Settle in
Dogs and cats do not share a waiting room. Cat carriers can be set down in the cat room, and those appointments are kept short so the wait does not build.
03
Examine and explain
In the consult room we show you what we find. In-house blood tests, digital X-ray and ultrasound are available here when the examination calls for them. Any treatment waits until you have a written estimate.
04
Follow up
A nurse calls within 48 hours. After surgery, pain relief and notes for home recovery go with you on the day, and the discharge call checks how the first night went.

He was back on his morning walk by spring.
Biscuit’s owner
10 weeks
from surgery to full walks
Biscuit, a beagle aged 7, came to the clinic with a cruciate ligament injury. Dr. Samuel Osei repaired it. The plan and the fee were set out in a written estimate before surgery, and Biscuit went home with pain relief and instructions for the first days.
Malik Haddad, veterinary nurse for rehabilitation, wrote the rehab plan. Over 10 weeks Biscuit returned to full walks. His owner said he was back on his morning walk by spring. That span, from surgery to full walks, is what happened for this one dog.
It is not a timetable we offer to every animal. Every animal is different, and another dog with a cruciate repair may need longer, or a different plan, under the same surgeons and nurses. The full account of Biscuit’s case is on the stories page, beside Juniper and Otto, each told on its own.
