Ground Floor: Guitars, Basses, and Rentals Desk

The ground floor holds our guitar and bass collection, featuring 140 guitars on the wall alongside amplifiers, cables, cases, and second-hand instruments. Founder Mara Ellison oversees this room, helping players find instruments that balance weight, neck profile, and acoustic resonance. Near the entrance, Nia Okoro manages the rentals and lessons desk, where students and families can arrange monthly rentals or set up trial bookings. Every second-hand guitar on our wall has been inspected, cleaned, and adjusted so it is ready to play immediately. You are welcome to take any instrument down from the rack or take it upstairs into one of our private trial booths.

First Floor: Pianos, Keyboards, and Strings

Upstairs on the first floor, acoustic upright pianos, digital pianos, and orchestral strings share a quiet, natural-light showroom. Kenji Arai manages the piano department, maintaining each instrument in stable tune and guiding players through touch sensitivity and mechanical differences. Across the hall, Leila Haddad assists violinists, violists, and cellists with instrument fit, chin rests, and bow balance. The room is designed with calm acoustics to let you hear the true character of wood and strings without shop distractions. If you wish to try an upright piano or bow in complete privacy, one of our sound booths is located on the second floor.

Second Floor: Band, Percussion, Sound Booths, and Repair Workbench

The second floor houses woodwinds, brass, drums, our repair workbench, and three dedicated sound booths. Sofia Brandt oversees band and orchestral instruments, helping school ensembles and adult players test trumpets, clarinets, and saxophones. Tomás Ruiz manages drums and percussion, offering testing spaces for snares, cymbals, practice pads, and hardware. At the end of the hall, Owen Pike operates the repair workbench, handling setups, restrings, and structural adjustments in open view. Players testing louder brass or drum gear can step directly into our three isolated sound booths, available for 45-minute sessions throughout the week.

What to Bring for Your Visit

When visiting Hazuki Instruments to evaluate an instrument, we encourage you to bring your own familiar accessories. Guitarists often bring their preferred pick or strap, string players bring their bow, and brass players bring their personal mouthpiece. You may also bring a current instrument for side-by-side comparison. Having your everyday gear on hand gives you a reliable baseline for judging comfort, weight, and tone. If you do not have your own accessories with you, our staff can provide sanitized mouthpieces, bows, and picks so you can test comfortably.
